About

MOJNA weaves improvisation and counterpoint voicing into their inventive take on Nordic folk music. With guitar, Hardanger fiddle, and clarinet/bass clarinet, they have created a sound that is both original and unmistakably their own.

Their debut album, För Sola Skin' På Tak (2022), was met with critical acclaim, earning them the title of "Instrumental Band of the Year" from Lira Music Magazine. The album also received nominations for the Swedish Manifestgalan and the 2023 Folk & World Music Gala, highlighting their innovative contributions to the genre.

In June 2024, MOJNA released their second album, Väntenätter, to enthusiastic reviews. NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) awarded it a rare "6 out of 6" rating, and it was nominated for the Folkelarmprisen for Album of the Year, cementing MOJNA’s reputation as trailblazers in contemporary Nordic folk.
